On September 16-18, 2021, the "6^th China Pharmaceutical Intellectual Property Summit" was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Shanghai.

Mr. Haoyu (Elliot) Zhou, a partner at Foundin IP who co-manages the biotech & chemistry patent team, attended the Summit on behalf of Foundin. Elliot actively discussed with other attendees on many pharma-related IP issues, such as the revision of the patent examination guidelines, the change of practices in post-filing supplementary data, and the introduction of pharmaceutical patent linkage system, etc.

This kind of academic conference provides a very informative platform, through which IP experts from the pharmaceutical sector (both of those from in house or from IP law firm) can freely exchange their opinions about the pros and cons of the current regulations and patent laws in relation to pharmaceutical patent practice. We believe most of the attendees have learned a lot from the Summit, and Foundin will continue to invest and join the conference next year.
